JDI & Wicrypt Partnership:
Pioneering Decentralized Connectivity with Next-Gen
Hardware Beefi

JDI and Wicrypt are excited to announce their new partnership as hardware manufacturers and investors in the future of secure and affordable internet access. Wicrypt, a technology company founded with the mission to provide internet access to everyone, has developed a decentralised network of Wi-Fi hotspots that enables users to share their internet connection securely and at an affordable price.

Wicrypt started in Africa, where the founders identified the need to solve the problem of limited internet access in the region. They developed software that could be installed on any android or iOS mobile device to manage internet sharing and bill users per gigabyte of data consumed. However, this approach met challenges like limited coverage area and concurrent connections. This inspired the Wicrypt team to return to the drawing board and develop their own hardware devices and operating system.

After over three years of research and development, Wicrypt launched its in-house hardware devices (the Spider and the Lynx) and Operating System (the WicryptOS), which revolutionised the impact of its software stack. As an added incentive for users to help build the first decentralised network, Wicrypt launched its native cryptocurrency, the Wicrypt Network Token ($WNT), in 2021. The $WNT serves as an incentive and reward system to encourage people to create and share internet networks with users around them who need internet access.

The Wicrypt network provides significant values such as buying data in bulk, sharing and reselling at an affordable price, monitoring and managing data usage, enjoying zero caps on data sharing, seamlessly switching between internet service providers, getting detailed insight on service availability for network providers, advertising products or services directly, and earning rewards in cryptocurrency tokens ($WNT) when accessing the internet using a hotspot hub.

Wicrypt's innovative mesh network allows users to share their internet connection with others in their community, enabling even those who cannot afford high subscription tariffs to connect to the internet. The success of Wicrypt's technology in Nigeria inspired the team to take their technology global, impacting millions of people worldwide.

Wicrypt is also committed to empowering local entrepreneurs and creating jobs in the communities it serves. By partnering with federal and state governments to support local Wicrypt operators, the company provides internet access, creates economic opportunities, and drives growth.

To today,Wicrypt has sold over 1000 active hotspot hubs, crossed over 9 million staked $WNT, raised over 1.6 million dollars in funding from heavyweight VCs like Polygon ventures, and launched the early stages of their “City WiFi” project that aims to provide long-range network connectivity within gated communities, with the hopes to hit over 100 million active hotspot hubs within the next ten years.

The Wicrypt Network Token ($WNT) launched publicly in 2021 and is currently traded in MEXC and QuickSwap exchanges on the Polygon network, with outstanding performance since launch even in a bear market condition and has over 10,000 wallet holders. Wicrypt has also received notable recognition and awards from major organisations such as Kin Blockchain, Nigeria Communication Commission, Africa50, and Saudi Arabia’s LEAP23.

Today, Wicrypt is a global leader in decentralised internet connectivity, with active hotspot hubs in over 30 countries and a network of over 25,000 users. The partnership between JDI and Wicrypt marks a significant step towards achieving their shared mission of providing secure and affordable internet access to everyone worldwide
