JDI&DIMO Joint Press Release

Today, we are pleased to announce the partnership between DIMO and the Crypto hardware company, JDI. The DIMO hardware team and JDI’s subsidiaryHashDog are collaborating to produce DIMO-compatible hardware featuring a lower cost to customers, excellent stability, and the manufacturing capacity to expand globally at a scale of hundreds of thousands of units.

What is the partnership about?

Vehicles are among the most commonly networked devices, with 1.4 billion vehicles registered in the world. DIMO provides car owners with the necessary tools to capitalize, privatize, and make vehicle data useful with web3 hardware and software. Over 6,000 vehicles are currently connected to the DIMO Network, representing more than 500 models and 40 major automotive brands. Through the DIMO app, car owners can gain insights into their vehicle's health and access useful applications.

Additionally, DIMO is building a developer platform for automotive services, integrating a range of solutions for real-world problems such as vehicle financing, car valuation, and price comparison applications. As a result of this collaboration, JDI hopes to assist in expanding and accelerating the DIMO network.

Builders can collect and share authenticated data from IoT devices (their cars) by purchasing and connecting a HashDog device to the vehicle's data port (called OBD2). In exchange, they can receive the native token of the network, $DIMO as well as access to the DIMO marketplace.

Why is this partnership important to DIMO?

The DIMO community has reached consensus that the addition of more hardware production nodes will result in increased application potential. This will support the expansion and health of the ecosystem. It is therefore necessary for DIMO to have a reliable hardware partner that can provide stable hardware supplies, upgrades, and maintenance, to ensure the satisfaction of DIMO users.

The right partner

JDI's commitment is to provide high-quality and professional hardware equipment for user-owned IoT networks (aka DeWi/TIPIN projects), with supply chain solutions, as well as comprehensive, continuous and stable technical support to every customer. The importance of this cooperation extends beyond the enhancement of the performance and volume of DIMO equipment.

Wang Address

Yiming Wang, President of JDI, also expressed great expectations for this collaboration:

"I believe that DIMO is without question the leading project in the connected vehicle space - the largest category of IoT devices..

The formation of this strong strategic alliance between JDI and DIMO will enable a broader range of web3 users and builders to join the cause of developing a more secure and decentralized global network infrastructure."
